- How to Purchase the correct Plantation Shutter Parts !
1. Measure your windows or openings (See Measurements Page for further information).
2. Decide which hanging scenario is right for your windows or openings. Below you will see a few hanging styles. Shutter panels can be hung above another to achieve a larger opening or to hang different style of panels as seen below.
3. Note that our shutter parts are separated into five shutter heights and eight shutter widths. The sizes are standardized so that any window opening can be covered with one or more shutter panels. A shutter panel when fully assembled can be cut up to 7/16" on each side (total of 7/8" in width) and 1" off the top and 1" off the bottom if required to fit into an area. Fitting to a width is suggested to undersize the shutter panel width and add hanging strips cut to a particular width to achieve a proper fit. See the images above for clearances using a non-mortise hinge.
